Researching, educating and supporting small businesses along trails on the SE Mediterranean
The Culture Routes Society is working with 7 partners in 4 countries (Greece, Bulgaria Italy, Türkiye) on 4 routes (Mount Olympos, Sultans’ Trail, Via Francigena and Lycian Way) on an EU project called DETOUR, to educate and mentor small businesses along walking trails. The objectives are to increase risk and sustainability awareness, to extend the trekking season and to support digital promotion of trails. This presentation will consider the methodology and results of the survey, online and in-person training and give examples of the way the small businesses want to develop in light of climate change and digitalisation of their markets.
