Delegates attending the World Trails Conference 2026 (WTC2026) will have the opportunity to experience Western Australia’s iconic landscapes firsthand, with a curated program of pre-conference tours designed to showcase the state’s diverse and world-class trail experiences.
Taking place ahead of the conference this October, the pre-conference tours offer a unique opportunity for delegates to connect, learn and explore alongside industry peers, before the formal program begins.
From coastal walks and forest trails to culturally significant landscapes, the tours will highlight the breadth of Western Australia’s trail network and the stories that shape them. Each experience has been carefully designed to reflect key conference themes, including sustainable trail development, conservation, and First Nations connections to Country.
Beyond showcasing destination experiences, the tours provide valuable professional insights into trail design, management and interpretation, allowing delegates to engage directly with local experts and practitioners in real-world settings.
“These tours are about more than just experiencing beautiful places,” said organisers. “They offer a chance to see best practice in action, to learn from local knowledge holders, and to build meaningful connections with others working in the trails space.”
The pre-conference program also creates early networking opportunities, helping delegates form connections that will continue throughout the conference and beyond.
With strong interest expected from both domestic and international attendees, places on pre-conference tours are limited and expected to fill quickly.
WTC2026 will bring together 97 speakers from 18 countries across more than 65 sessions and 18 workshops, positioning Western Australia as a global meeting point for trail innovation and collaboration.
